Latest Trends in Tractor Industry in Turkey; production down, but the market increases slightly
Our July 2017 Turkish Tractor Industry Report, the latest, which is based on data provided from Turkish Statistical Institute and tractor companies, shows that production in the country goes down, exports go down, however the market slightly increases, which would be interpreted as tractor imports are increasing.
The number of tractors manufactured in Turkey since the beginning of the year 2017 until June is 11% lower compared to the same period last year. This downward tendency is also true for tractor exports from the country, which is roughly 9% lower for the first half of 2017 compared to that of 2016.
On the other hand, tractor market in Turkey shows a slight increase for the first 4 months of 2017 compared to same period in 2016 by 2%. This could be a sign that Turkish farmers keep their investments in new tractors and share of imported tractors are on an increase trend. Between January and April 2017 more than 20.000 tractors have been registerd in the country.
