CEMA Barometer Results: The Industry Continues to Gear Up in December!

According to the survey results conducted by CEMA - The European Agricultural Machinery Association, stated that the business environment index which reached a positive level in October for the first time since mid-2019, has risen to +28 points in the last survey period and the increase in the industry continues strongly.

As for the poll results, it is striking that the rise in the industry draws an opposite picture unlike the 2010 and 2017 periods, and the progress in current business environment is for the first time ahead of the improved future expectations. It rather appears that the industry is continuously adjusting its future expectations to a surprisingly well-performing current business.

On the other hand,  only 14% of the participants consider their current business to be unfavorable, while 18% expect a drop in turnover in the next 6 months.

In terms of expected turnover in the European market for 2021, industry representatives forecast a significant turnover increase for their companies (median: + 5%, arithmetic average: + 4%). In contrast, 56% of the respondents anticipate an absolute increase for the turnover bracket in the single-digit percentage range. It is pointed out that this positive development may start especially from Western Europe, North America, and Oceania.
