Keep up with the Industry Trends | Technical Visit to Bavaria

TARMAKBİR has arranged a technical tour to the state of Bavaria, Germany to share information on smart technologies and to encourage domestic production,  between 17 - 23 July 2022, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, AHK German-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bavarian Ministry of Economy, Energy and Technology and Bayern International.

In addition to 23 representatives from our 19 members, senior officials of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and experts from the Department of Agricultural Technologies and Mechanization has been attended to the delegation. During the technical tour, Sensorik Bayern, Same Deutz-Fahr, Holmer, Horsch, Kuka, Hannes Schallmayer's Farm, Bundesverband der Maschinenringe eV (Federal Association for Machine Rings) ), Bayerische Landesanstalt für Landwirtschaft (LfL, Bavarian State Agricultural Research Center - Ruhstorf an der Rott), Bayerische Landesanstalt für Landwirtschaft (LfL, Bavarian State Agricultural Research Center - Poing) were visited by the delegation.

Within the scope of these technical visits to Germany, Italy, Austria, France and Poland, 35 different production facilities of 24 global brands (Rauch, Same Deuzt Fahr, Fendt, Claas, John Deere, Goldoni, Steyr, Pöttinger, Horsch, Lemken, Amazone, Krone, Alpego, Caffini, Laverda, Mascar, Celli, Massey Ferguson, Kuhn, Sulky, Pronar, Samasz, Unia, Metal-Fach) were visited since 2013. Besides the main industry companies, the production facilities of Poclain Hydraulic, Comer and Lombardini companies and other visits (Deula, Terrena and Cuma) provided an interesting experience for the participants on agricultural education, cooperation in food/agriculture and the use of common machinery.

The last trip was held in the state of Bavaria, Germany between 17 - 23 July 2022, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, AHK German-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bayern International, the Bavarian Ministry of Economy, Energy and Technology and in the organization of TARMAKBİR.

 Below you can find brief information about the places visited during the technical trip.

Sensorik Bayern GmbH: The Sensor Technology Cluster is a network that brings together the sensor technology expertise of Bavarian companies, universities and research institutions with the goal of "Smart Sensor Systems made in Bavaria", the network has 80 members and 250 partners.

Same Deutz-Fahr (SDF Group): Same Deutz-Fahr is one of the world's leading manufacturers of tractors, combines and diesel engines. The Italy-based organization remained a part of Deutz AG until 2003. The group has a tractor and combine harvester production facility in Bandırma, Turkey.

Holmer Maschinenbau GmbH: Holmer GmbH is a German manufacturer of agricultural machinery for special harvesting technology. The company is the world market leader in self-propelled sugar beet harvesters.

Horsch Maschinen GmbH: Horsch Maschinen GmbH is a Germany-based agricultural machinery manufacturer. Today, the company produces tillage, planting machines, plant protection equipment and various logistics vehicles. The company is known for the equipment it produces for minimum tillage. Operating worldwide, the company employs approximately 2,300 people and has an annual turnover of 650 million euros.

Kuka AG: Kuka AG is an internationally operating automation company with a turnover of approximately 3.3 billion Euros and approximately 14,000 employees, a worldwide manufacturer of industrial robots and solutions for factory automation.

Hannes Schallmayer's Farm: Smart farming solutions are implemented on the 160-hectare farm of Hannes Schallmayer, a member of Farm Facts GmbH and General Manager of the Agriculture Application Group. FarmFacts GmbH is a company known for agricultural software and digital farming solutions as well as consulting services.

Bundesverband der Maschinenringe eV: The Federal Association of Machinery Rings is an agricultural cooperative that coordinates its members' labor and machine use. For example, the system brings together the farmer who wants to share his plow with other members and the farmer who needs plow service within a certain price framework. After the job is completed, the association receives the payment from the client and transfers it to the service provider. Maschinenringe serves 193,000 farmers across Germany, with an annual turnover exceeding 1 billion euros. Member enterprises cultivate 7.8 million hectares of agricultural land throughout the country, which corresponds to 49% of the total agricultural land.

Bayerische Landesanstalt für Landwirtschaft (LfL, Ruhstorf an der Rott): In Ruhstorf an der Rott, which is the application area of specialized institutes operating under the Bavarian State Agricultural Research Center, studies within the scope of field agriculture are carried out in particular. At this institute, field robots are currently being tested.

Bayerische Landesanstalt für Landwirtschaft (LfL, Poing): In the practice area of the Bavarian State Agricultural Research Center in Poing, studies are carried out mainly on animal husbandry (animal production, feeding and feed management, etc.). For example, in the DigiMilch project, the suitability of existing digital solutions for the milk production process chain is tested, and existing gaps or deficiencies in smart solutions are identified. In addition, new products are developed and tested in cooperation with start-ups
