Developments in Turkey Tractor Industry as of December 2014
The latest official figures tell us that, tractor registeries in Turkey (2013 and 2014 models) in October 2014 is 5,760 units. It is a 21% greater number of registered tractors compared to the October 2013. Taking a look at the total tractor registery figure for the first 10 months of 2014 (Jan. - Oct.), it is seen that there has been 45,768 units of tractors (2013 and 2014 models) registered in Turkey, and it is 15.5% higher compared to the corresponding period of 2013. Tractor registeries in Turkey in 2014 keep to be the highest of the latest 5 years (2010 - 2014), except the record breaking year 2011.
Tractor manufacture in Turkey, on the other hand, declined by 9% in November 2014 compared to the same month last year. However, the total figure of tractor manufacture for the first 11 months of 2014 (Jan. - Nov.) in Turkey is 59,885 units which is 15.4% greater than the corresponding period of 2013. Moreover, it is the highest of the corresponding periods of the last 5 years (2010 - 2014), even 6% larger than the record breaking year 2011.
The slump in November 2014 was not only seen for tractor manufacture, but also for tractor exports from Turkey. The figure for November 2014 is 1,444 units which is 10.4% lower than the same month last year. Yet, in terms of total export in the first 11 months (Jan. - Nov. 2014), 16,394 units of tractors exported fron Turkey where it is 15% larger than the corresponding period of the last year, and the highest of the last 5 years (2010 - 2014).
The current drop in tractor manufacture in Turkey could be assigned to the current drop in export figures. Yet, the national market is still doing good and TARMAKBIR forecasts that the uptrend in tractor registeries in Turkey would proceed until sometime in the first quarter of 2015. However, it is also predictable that, registeries would then curve down connected to a saturation level resulted from the high figures seen in 2014. On the other hand, tractor export figures of Turkey would keep its upward trend in general in 2015, balancing the manufacture figure that would decline otherwise according to predicted future downward trend in the national market.
