Agrievolution Barometer Result Shows Turkey’s FM Climate Index Declined by 23 percent!

As the results of the 24th edition of the Agrievolution Business Barometer, a regular survey by the Global Alliance of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers' Associations (Agrievolution) of which TARMAKBİR is a founding member, shows, Turkey's climate index on agricultural machinery fell into a decline and dropped by 23 percent as against the spring period of the loop.
The questionnaire reflects major issues such as production, domestic market, exports, order status, turnover expectations, employment, machinery stocks, farmers' expectations, economic conditions and global effects of the outbreak. The survey was conducted with 306 companies from Japan, China, Russia, Argentina, Western Europe, Turkey and the USA, which are covered by the Agrievolution network simultaneously, except for South Korea, India, and Brazil, which did not take part in the program for this period.
The global business climate index has declined in all regions (except the USA). Besides that, pessimism has increased in expectations for the future. Despite the growth in global markets, the reflection of price, delivery time and quality problems on production because of the epidemic effects in the supply chain, still continue. The sharp increase in input costs influences the sector unfavorably. In the general outlook of the markets covering the next six months, expectations for almost all regions (except the USA) point to a decline. In Turkey, on the other hand, the market outlook is pessimistic, as the depreciation of TL against € and $ with high inflation negatively affects the purchasing power of farmers.
The survey results show that the positive outlook for the markets in the coming year is highly dependent on the industry's access to raw materials (price and delivery). Respondents point out the deterioration in the supply chain hampers the industry's ability to produce. Apart from that, due to the increase in prices of agricultural products and the slowdown in the demand for these products, the rise in grain prices and other costs, which is among the important input costs of animal husbandry, affected the profitability negatively.
